algorithmic modeling for Rhino

wbCatmullClark lowers subdivision level

I am using the wbCatmullClark component, and want to subdivide a mesh using level 4. The component tells me this warning:

Subdivision level was lowered to 2 from 4: See "Dynamic preview..." to change this

What is dynamic preview, and how can I make sure wbCatmullClark will apply the subdivision level I asked it to apply?

Hi Alexander

if you right-click on the component (on top of the icon or text), you will see the options.

Hi Giulio, 

many thanks for your help, that solved my problem! Funny I didn't have the idea to look there. 

The resulting mesh is still very coarse, and the component very fast, but if I understand correctly the component is using the solution time of the complete model to decide on lowering the subdivision level.

Yes, if you choose the appropriate option, then the lowering will not occur, though.
