Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi guys. Is there a way to create a mesh from this set of points:

I want to create a mesh or just the hexagon and triangle panels as illustrated here.

Any ideas?

Thanks Rasmus

Hi Rasmus

meshes in Rhino can only contain triangles or quads, but it appears that the image contains hexagons, too. That being said, the upcoming version of Weaverbird contains the MeshFromLines command+Grasshopper component: it should be able to do what you are asking. As usual, when not possible with meshes it creates polyline groups.

It will take some time to finalize this and release, but there will be some announcements before the Weaverbird training with Ilaria: http://www.geometrydepth.com/meshes-with-weaverbird/

You will be informed if you downloaded Weaverbird at least once: users on that list will get to try the new release first.

Thanks,

Giulio

That sounds exactly what I am looking for. Could you by any chance tell me what logic you have used in order to do meshfromlines? Measuring distances from points or lines or? Or when do you think the new version will be ready? :)
