Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

I am designing a facade with algorithmic choice of colors.

Is it possible to somehow plug in my colors in a style component or such so that it passes on to Rhino and, subsequently, IFC it?

Thanks,

Pedro

Hi Pedro,

It is not possible up to the 1.9 version to assign colors or other attributes to the VisualARQ style components in Grasshopper. We can consider to add this feature in the future.

Morover, these attributes are not exported right now to IFC, although this will be possible in the next 2.0 version.

Best regards,

Hi, you could try either the Human or the FabLab components, you can add some attributes to layers and objects, such as color, and then bake them. Although, I haven't found the way to input VisualArq geometry as it is, I think you need to explode the geometry into polysurfaces first and then you are able to bake them with the custom attributes. If you do take a look at these components, please let me know if you manage to bake the VisualArq elements without these losing their parametric properties within Rhino.

Regards,

Good idea. I love Human (and humans). Didn't work, though :(
