Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello everyone.

I am new in using Millipede and I wanted to do a structural analysis of a gyroid box.

Could anyone check if I'm doing it right? I'm currently just looking at self-weight and fixed boundary conditions with no extra loads. The normal stresses are shown in the first picture below, the deflections in the second. The normal stresses seem to be all right (as they should be almost equally distributed), but the deflections show something odd in a top corner.

Is there also a legend component in Millipede?

Besides, it seems as though my meshes are displayed (Shaded/Rendered/Ghosted) transparent. (I have this problem outside of Millipede as well.)

Could anyone help me out? Thanks!

Display issue solved! (Options>View>OpenGL> uncheck Use accelerated hardware modes)

Besides my question of having the settings for doing the structural analysis correctly,

is it logical to have the gyroid box on top of the normal box and to say that the supports are fixed?

Or should the gyroid box intersect with the normal box? When I try doing that, Grasshopper won't stop generating for a very long time, with no results within an hour...
