Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi David, first of all: I love your Mesh+ plugin, love the icons too.

When I tried the "Cap" example, I think I noticed a bug : when using the optional distance (D input), the directions seem to be 'random'. Did I misunderstand something, or is it indeed a bug?

Pieter,

Its not a bug... but its not ideal. It is a result of the normals being based on the winding direction of the polyline that defines the hole... Thinking about it, a better way to set the normal direction might be to pull it from the surrounding vertex normals and use them as a guide.

I'll look into an alternate that might be more "predictable" based on the components function.

Thanks for the catch, please let me know anything else that doesn't act as expected, or any other ideas.

Thanks for your answer David.
Shouldn't the winding directions ideally be uniform too (CCW)?
Kind regards, Pieter
