algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi Erik
Why not just bake the curves into rhino and then save the file as DWG?
regards
Hi Robert,
The whole point of the finches components is to automate export, so that you can rapidly export large numbers of files in a variety of formats. It essentially does 'bake' and 'export' but does so silently and directly from Grasshopper. You can export a file every time a slider is changed, for example.
Hi erik,
you should be able to change the format of exported files by simply changing the file extension on the fiename input for the finches export component. So 'myfile.ai' would export an Adobe Illustrator file, while 'myfile.dwg' would export a dwg file.
These export methods use the settings from the last export you did in Rhino. So if you want to change the export settings, just do a manual export of any geometry, and adjust the settings as you like. The next time you export with the Finches Export component it should use those same settings.
Benjamin,
That is the goal, to automate the output of the results into a DWG file. That way I can test various solutions in GH then push these out to drawing form. I think it sounds like the perfect solution.
Thanks for the quick responses, I am hoping to re-develop my relationship with GH so should be more to come!
You're welcome!
It would be exciting to see anything you make with Finches, so if you feel like sharing images of your work, please do!
Welcome to
Grasshopper
