algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi All,
I don't know if this is a bug as a result of the latest update to Ladybug, but no matter what I seem to connect to the geometry to this component, it comes up with an error "Solution exception: 'Guid' object has no attribute '_float_'".

Hi Mostapha,
The problem was about "_disFromBase input. In original Ely's file, as a distance from the surface: There were numbers of surface geometry that called "Evolution Surface". Anyway, that not worked. I changed that with a number then it worked.

I just added type hints on three the Ladybug analysis components so you should not have this issue again:

Also, I see that you are trying to use the context transmittance input on the radiation analysis and I have to say that I decided to remove this after I was given a few scenarios of how new users might easily misunderstand it and get incorrect results. Instead, I recommend that you model this with Honeybee, which is a safer and more fool-proof way of accounting for radiation that has to pass through several surfaces with the same transmittance.

I did notice the input was missing in the updated versions, I ended up using the one you had for us before the alteration purely so I could get some indicative images to use in a memo to demonstrate only on a visual basis the differences.
I moved to using Honeybee's Radiance analysis, but was stumped when I was faced with the issue of getting hourly results from it =/ (I needed to provide our CFD modeller the radiation values for the measurement points so they could do an outdoor thermal comfort study) I couldn't find any components which would allow me to grab hourly radiation outputs, so instead, I set up a parametric model to simulate a grid analysis (whereby the hours in the skyfile were parametrically changes) and put the simulation type to Radiation, set it to record the results into an excel sheet, and then produced a macro to combine all the data 500 simulated results into one spread sheet..
It was a bit of a loop, but we got there in the end!!
Could I perhaps request a means to grab hourly radiation data from the Radiance simulation? It is very simple to grab illuminance, but for the life of me I couldn't find the radiation files =(

Thanks for the spot! I had copied the component workflow from the example file on Hydra, so I would suggest that file be updated so others don't have the same issues!
I eventually figured it out when I previewed the grid test points and found they were off in weird distances and locations o.O
