Project Textures/Images on surface

I recently had the need to project Images onto a surface for calculation but did not manage to get it working.

So has anybody tried it and got it to work?

Furthermore - as I read in the tutorials about it - it should be mainly about placement in the 3d space and size - so that could be an ideal task for a ladybug compontent - just to mention :P or is there already some component I did not find yet that can aid in that question?
