Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi All-

I'm attempting to use Karamba to preform FEA on various solid geometries. These geometries will eventually be 3D printed, so they are basically water tight meshes. I understand that Karamba is typically used to analyze structural systems in buildings, so the analysis is based off of beams and supports, but this generally does not apply in my case. I have been trying to use the mesh to shell component, but the results are generally poor. The examples I have seen of this component being used generally deal with meshes created from single surfaces, not polysurfaces. Different geometries produce vastly different shell structures, each with their own particularities. I'm wondering if there is a simple way to use Karamba to analyze water tight mesh solids? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best,

Andy
