algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi Clemens,
I'm a student of Karamba from USYD.
I was wondering how I might analyze the stresses of a mesh brep using reinforce concrete material for our pavilion project.

Hi Nicholas,
the conventional way would be to do a linear elastic shell analysis, determine the cross section forces throughout the shell and then use these to calculate the necessary amount reinforcement. The latter could be done using e.g. Response2000 (see http://www.ecf.utoronto.ca/~bentz/home.shtml).
In order to take into account non-linear effects like buckling, creep and cracking you should use a sufficient safety factor for the cross section forces. Depending on the geometry of the structure this factor can be 2 to 4.
