Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I have a truss that I build out of beams using Karamba, and now I want to 3D print it. However, I can't make a clean .stl because the "beam view" makes each beam mesh with naked ends.

Has anyone had a similar problem, and know of a solution?

Thanks.

Hi Garrett,

Obviuosly this is not a Karamba question...

I think the mesh+ plugin has a [Cap Mesh] component, but it might not work out of the box.

You may be better off creating the geometry with standard grasshopper tools:

Draw the profile from the section parameters, place them on the element axis using a perp plane and [Orient], then [Extrude] or [Sweep 1] and finally [Cap Holes]
