algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello,
I am currently working on analyzing a simple flat plate supported by four columns. I want to display the principal stress lines on the mesh, but I am having problems. As seen in the images, the stress lines are overlapping one another, which I believe shouldn't be happening. If there is any insight on how to fix this, it would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Hello Daniel,
in karamba 1.1.0 the components for principal stresses or moments output first and second principal stress or moment lines at the ouput-plugs 'Lines1' and 'LInes2'. These two sets of lines intersect at 90°. In order to display only one group disable the preview of the results-component and plug one of the line sets into a line-component.
Best,
Clemens
Clemens,
Thanks for the response. My question has more to do with the 'Lines1' output itself, not the interaction between 'Lines1' and 'Lines2'. Within the 'Lines1' output, there are lines that are crossing one another. From my understanding, these should never cross each other. Is this corrrect? I can attach another image if need be. Thank you.
Daniel,
in theory the lines of one set should not cross each other. In practice integration errors occur due to the discretization using finite elements. Try to refine the mesh.
Best,
Clemens
Clemens,
Thanks a lot. I will give that a try.
