algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi Clemens,

Was wondering if you could add a bit of clarity as to how the internal section forces resulting from a Natural Vibrations analysis are normalised?  I have a hunch based on the values but just wanted to confirm with you.

I'm just writing a component which does an elastic Response Spectrum Analysis based on the structure and an input spectrum curve which will allow quick estimation of the seismic performance of a structure. The 'Hackers manual' and SDK has been very useful in writing this, and as usual I've been very impressed with the performance of the Karamba engine both in terms of speed and accuracy.

Cheers,

Lucas

Hi Lucas,

the section forces are calculated from the nodal displacements with all loads removed. The displacement vector of the system gets scaled in such a way that its maximum component is unity.

Best,

Clemens
