algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi.

Any news of being able to export shell elements to Robot? As panels or similarly?

It's been a while, since I last asked, so I thought I would try again :)

Hi Rasmus,

there is some news regarding shells. Although it is not possible to export shells via the DAfSt data format it can be done via spread-sheet tables. At least in RFEM (and I assume also in Robot) it is possible to copy and paste data from Excel and thereby define e.g. the connectivity of shells. Thus one has to generate a csv-file which contains the shells geometry data in the tabular format RFEM or Robot can handle.

Best,

Clemens

Hi Clemens.

Okay - thanks for the update.

Just another little thing that I have noticed lately - when using shell elements and "beam elements" the beam force results gets a path structure that does not necessarily match the id of the beam.

E.g the result structure could be: {0;0}, {0;1}, {0;2}, {0;5}.

In stead of {0;0}, {0,1}, {0,2}, {0,3} - I guess this is because the mesh/shell elements takes up the {0;3}, {0;4} ??

Of course there are easy workarounds, it just gives me some confusion. I know this might be a bad explanation of the problem, but I hope you follow? :)

Best regards Rasmus
