Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi guys,

I' m working on non regular folded plates and came across some issue, I wasn't able to resolve:

If I simulate a folded plate as a shell and assume my mesh edges as folding axis, is it possible to retrieve the bending moments around each of the mesh edges?
For expample in every center point of an edge i want to know the value of the bending momentum around the axis (yellow)

I did retrieve the moment lines, but I couldn't figure out a way to get the actual values of the moments.

Does anybody know how to do this???
(the mesh colors show the Van Mises stress)

Cheers,
Benjamin

Hi Benjamin,

in Karamba 1.0.4 there are no component available for reading out resultant cross section forces. They will be part of a future release.

For what purpose do you need the bending moment?

Best,

Clemens
