algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi, first of all awesome release Daniel, thanks for everything :D! Second, hahah seems I am super confused being playing with the soap film but the example you provided does not use the soap film component so I am confuse as of that, made a small version of mine for a tensile structure, manage to get the membrane to stay firm on the edges but can't manage to make the pulling points pull the membrane up or down, as when I introduce the points to the goals the mesh explodes.
I know how to do it on the old release based on the springs formula and I know you told me to use the length with zero length as a test before you release the soap goal, but none of them I have manage to get them to work.
I have also try to use the SoapFilm Example and edited but the membrane dissapears into oblivion once I change something, and well never comes back...

Don't have it...Going to reinstall 0.99 Kangaroo then.
Yeah, that one component seems does not get install when re installing Kangaroo weird. Everything else does appear.

I´m trying to do some Freio Otto´s simulations as this link with grasshopper and kangaroo2.2

If you find some examples let me know
Yea, I am trying to create something similar but either I am too tired from end of semester work .>.<. Or my head can't manage to make it work. I do know how to using the old .99 Kangaroo but will like to use the new 2.02 Kangaroo to make use of the enhanced abilities moving forward.
@Daniel, Yes you are right just found it.
Will continue trying to make some Otto's structure with the new K 2.02 and see what I get, its going to be a messy ride hahaha.
I trying to understand the kangaroo2.2 with a simple curve
I tried to build a Costa´s Surface with soapfilm component a rotation mesh but at the end I could not intercept the resulting mesh...it is unstable!
I am having similar issues reaching stability on very basic cylindrical mesh.
I have tried playing with the values of SG strenght and TSmooth strenght (and their ratios) without luck so far.
I really like the idea of finding min surface independently of the density of springs in one or the other direction ('uv'). This has always been a little tedious in the previous version of Grasshopper... where the either the density/stiffness had to be adjusted to achieve the desired result.
Hi Jean,
The soap-film elements need a triangulated mesh, and it works best if these triangles are somewhere close to equilateral.
Hi. Sorry for not seeing this question earlier.
Just increasing the TSmooth strength it seems to work fine.
This doesn't look like Costa's surface though...
Welcome to
Grasshopper
