In fact, when I bake the resultant points, close grasshopper, and use the command "SelPt", no points are selected...which makes me believe it is not the points going off the screen, they are being obliterated somehow

It looks like the problem is caused by the spring stiffness being too high, and causing the system to explode.

The way you have interconnected the points to get the springs is also giving you many duplicate lines (did you mean to flatten first?), effectively doubling the stiffness values for those springs.

Removing the duplicate springs and reducing stiffness to 1000 seems to fix it
