HOW to change the top anchor points (only) to a continuous ring or curve???

Daniel thanks for your inputs, really helped a lot.

And now Developing a tensile and want to have better connections at the top so looking to have a continuous ring or curve instead of points (which I have now). Any ideas ???

In short I still want the anchor points at the bottom but not the top, in the top it should be more like a ring.

Any suggestion is more than welcome ;-)

The example file posted here shows one way of pulling the boundary points of a mesh to a circular curve:

also in the zip collection of example files (from the top of this page) under the 'tensile' directory there is a file called Marsyas which shows another approach.
