algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi all!
I'm trying to develop a shell structure that is primarily arches/vaults in compression, but that is built off of a suspension cable. The cable should deflect to find the funicular form based on the loads applied by the vaults, which are also deflecting to find an optimal funicular form.
Standard vaults are easy enough to design with mesh relaxation, but I am having a hard time conceptualizing how to incorporate the tension element because the forces must act in opposite directions.
I'll include my definition, but I think it needs to be rethought.

Designing a funicular system involves considering both the technical and aesthetic elements that make the ride enjoyable and functional. The layout must account for the steep incline, station placements, and cable mechanism. If the funicular passes through buildings or requires adjustments to the surrounding infrastructure, involving experts like Basement Remodeling Contractors might be necessary to manage any foundational or structural concerns during construction. The stations should be strategically located, offering convenience and scenic views. Incorporating environmental features, such as natural landscapes, can enhance the experience. Additionally, structural planning is essential to ensure safety and stability.
