Formfinding using AreaWeight

I'm trying to use the AreaWeight component as a force object for form finding a mesh, however, when I then run Kangaroo, the mesh just disappears. I don't have the same issue when using a unary force - however, I am looking to use the component for a mesh where the faces differ in size across the mesh.

Script is attached for reference - if anyone could point out where I'm making a mistake that would be much appreciated. Or otherwise, how do you determine the applied force based on area?
