Any thought/ideas?

Hi, i seem to be in a bit of a predicament.  I was wondering what i could do with lofted strips and kangaroo not unlike the following :

Even if you tell me how to achieve exactly that, it would be great. 

However i'm wanting something on a larger scale; with a more complex/interesting form? See the thing is, I'm wanting to use kangaroo to roughly mimic the properties of plywood OR use kangaroo to build a form to showcase the  properties of plywood. Something that can show/push the material performance of  plywood.

Any pointers/tutorials in the right/similar direction would be also appreciated. Ultimately any slightly relevant tutorial will do as my current understanding of kangaroo and GH is really not that great as of now.
