Hi,

what Rhino version / Grasshopper version are you using?

hi, using gh 0.9.007 (latest version)

rhino3d vs.5 (SR.7) 64BIT

any idea what is happening?

Hi,

I just tested goat on the very same configuration without any problems. Please check the following:

- You installed goat to Grasshopper's Components directory.

- In the Components directory, you have two sub-folders called "goat_32bit" and "goat_64bit", each of them containing a single file "goat_nlopt.dll"

- You have checked for no blocked text in the file properties of "goat_includes.gha" and "goat_main.gha".

Hi Simon,

yes I have tried everything and nothing, I don't know what is happening.

I actually ask my associate what was happening? and he said that previously he tried to installed in my pc and the first time he did it the dialogue windows appeared and apparently he putted his own and old security key password, when he tried to run it by double clicking the icon, he told me nothing happened.

Previously I did not know this, so I have been trying to uninstall it and installing but the icon doesn't work still what can I do?...

for me this is a big problem as I am a tutor at the UCL and I normally teach as part of the educational material Galapagos - Goat and octopus, so I am missing just goat and is really a shame that I can show it...

ok, so let's try to delete the old activation details and do a fresh activation of goat.

  1. Start Grasshopper, from the menu select Files -> Special Folders -> Settings Folder. This opens the Settings Folder in Windows Explorer.
  2. Quit Grasshopper and Rhino.
  3. In the Settings Folder, open file grasshopper_kernel.xml in a text editor such as Windows notepad.
  4. Search and delete all four lines starting with <item name="goat_
  5. Save to disk, close the editor and restart Rhino/Grasshopper/goat. You should get the activation dialog now

Please let me know if you have any problems,

best, simon

Hi Simon,
