Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello. I am developing a site in Manhattan and I would like to model the surrounding context to aid my design. I am able to use the Gismo components I need but the output for the terrain looks rough.  The baked terrain seems to be composed of many small mounds. I know that this geography does not undulate as the geometry suggests (various topo maps show a smoother surface).  I tried a few different source types but I have the same issue each time. Is this a glitch or am I doing something wrong? Please let me know if there is a solution. Thank you.

Hi Ben,

For LIDAR like precision (of a few meters) in big USA cities, I would use the Ladybug legacy Terrain Generator instead.
Download it from here:

In order for it to work, you would also need Ladybug Ladybug component:

Thank you Djordje. I downloaded Ladybug Terrain Generator and ran a test. The terrain with Jawg looked the same as Gismo. However the terrain was more precise once I was able to get the Google API and load it into the component. Now the model is a much better representation of existing site conditions. Much appreciated.
