algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello there!

I was wondering if you think it's possible to have Gismo loading data from a local .osm file.

It might make things faster for larger analyses and might also (not sure) bypass the limitations in some cases. There are a few places to download .osm files (e.g. http://download.geofabrik.de/) to test this.

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,

Theodore.

P.S.: Not so interested in 3D landscape.

Hi Theodoros,

Thank you for opening this suggestion!

How would a local .osm file look like?
To my knowledge, download.geofabrik.de downloads its .osm files from openstreetmap.org, which is exactly what Gismo does, with the difference that Gismo then converts the .osm file to the .shp file.
Which limitations does this current work flow impose on your work?

Best Regards,
Djordje
