algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi Djordje, I discover that I can use Gismo with Archicad connection addon to send a mesh to Archicad program, but with some caveats.

The Archicad - Mesh tool needs points and boundary curves. The Gismo terrain generator can provide this data to archicad mesh tool?

Hi Pericles,

I do not have Archicad connection nor Archicad to check this, but when you say "boundary curves" are those edging curves of the terrain? If that is so then you can extract them with "Mesh edges" component, and extract points with "Deconstruct mesh" component. I attached an example below.
It uses both Gismo and Ladybug terrain components, so you can compare the results.
If I misunderstood the term "boundary curves", please feel free to reply back.

Best regards,
djordje

Hi Djordje, posting my feedback.

- The Ladybug don't elevate the terrain on Z axis, I can't discover why.

_The Gismo worked well, with your examples, but the Archicad Terrain component asks to the Boundary curve (the edge) be on horizontal plane and closed.

And because my restrict knowlidge of Grasshoppe I can't figure out how to resolve this.

Hi Pericles,

Ladybug does elevate the terrain.
If you zoom in realy close you will see that Ladybug generated a terrain with slight hill, but it's definitively not enough and does not correspond to Pao de Acucar. So you are right. Maybe try some other location.

I have no knowledge of Grasshopper to Archicad Connection, and I do not have Archicad to test this.
If we get a reply to your topic on their forum, in which way the outer terrain edge needs to be created, then maybe I can help. Other than this, I can only guess how this closed horizontal curve should look like. Check the attached file below.

Please do not hesitate to ask another question.

Hi Pericles,

One of the popular Grasshopper users, called Filipe Reis posted a video of Archicad's terrain component here:
https://www.facebook.com/jfdsreis/videos/1635794559811961

I am not sure if you can see it without being facebook friend with Filipe.

When he explained to me is that he does not eve use the "B" input for the boundary curves. He just uses the "P" input where he adds all the points of the terrain as a flattened list.
He also uses the "S" input, but in there he just inputs the "ArchiCAD mesh" component.
Attached below is a screenshot of this.

Maybe you can try to contact Filipe for help, and post the results in this topic.
I would be interested to know how your terrain looks like in ArchiCAD, once it is generated through Live connection

Hi Djordje, thanks for replay.
I made some adjustments and ended up running with one
of the components, Terrain 2.
Here how I did it:
Inserted join component and archicad seettings for profile height.

Terrain 1 worked, bur with different elevation.

Terrain 2:

Okay. Thank you for posting the solution Pericles!!

Yes, its the edge of the terrain. I will test this. Thanks.
