algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I was wondering whether there is a way to access the 3D buildings layer that Google Earth offers for some major cities (like Amsterdam)?

Thanks

Regarding the subject title: No, they don't share.

There could be a way to access the buildings by listening to the network traffic, extracting from the opengl pipeline or similar techniques, but none that seem to work with recent GE versions.

Google are getting rid of user modeled buildings in GE, but there are still a lot on the Warehouse that could perhaps be converted to RH.

Open Streetmaps is not really on the same level as GE yet: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OSM-3D.org

Good luck!

...and check other 3d cities as well, they might be easier targets.

Thanks, Ola, really helpful. I have been using Elk and OpenStreetMaps a lot.
