Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi Jon,

I'm working with the voronoi function in grasshopper at this moment, but I want to make this part of the structure and optimalization i'm going to do. The idea is to put the voronoi between the different veins so it can be part of the hierarchy I'm trying to achieve with the main veins as first order, the second order veins and the voronoi as third order and filling. In my model I was able to put an overall voronoi, but I don't understand how to put it between the veins, so use them as boundaries. I hope you understand my explanation like this and amaybe you can help me?

Kind regards,

Anne

Hi Anne,

Interesting definition.  I haven't had time to try and resolve it, but here's the strategy I would try.

When you start subdividing into cells, you can generate your points and either dispatch to the cell they are contained in (or use some approach were points are only generated in cells).  You could then connect each point to the closest branch in the higher order.  There is a component to identify cells (I didn't trace through the script if you exploded the lines from this previously).

Hope it might help a little,  I will try and look at this more ASAP if not.

Jon

Hi jon,

Thank you very much for all your help!

I tried what you said and it looks good but a soon as I throw it in GSA it makes seperate structures from it, and I have no idea how to fix this (I think I tried everything already..)
