algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi dear Colleagues,
right now I am working on shell structure. After design, I exported the geometry to Sofistik for structural analysis. Now I need to Import FEM model from Sofistik for further geometry analysis like planarity of the shell elements.
After installation BullAnt(GGym) and successfully updating the license I tried to import sofistik or IFC model to rhino again but rhino can not recognize the commands. Could you please give me a hint about these kind of work flow.
regards,
Amir

Hi Amir,
Do you mean you press the toolbar button to import the IFC or sofistik model and then the command isn't recognized? If you run rhino comman pluginmanager, are the gg IFC and Sofistik plugins loaded? Any error messages as rhino starts?
I know software such as GSA have functionality to take a deformed state and update node positions to reflect this, I assume you are doing the same in Sofistik prior to saving/exporting? Else you'll need to run a routine to superimpose the displacements (if you can share files, I might be able to advise on how this might be done).
Cheers,
Jon
The installer should write the registry key that tells rhino to load them.
You can find the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Geometry Gym\Rhino3d and drag and drop the .rhp files over the rhino application window. Or you should be able to load them from the rhino command plugin manager. Let me know if you get error messages when you do this.
Is there a download link for ggRhinoSofistik? I have found it only here http://geometrygymfrance.fr/ggf-licences.html, where the download link is missing.
Thanks a lot
Hi Amir,
For my graduation thesis I am performing more or less the same process as you describe only with Oasys GSA instead of Sofistik. Geometric checks like planarity etcetera are performed prior to structural analysis to avoid the step of importing the model again. Perhaps an idea for you as well (if possible).
Regards,
Sebastien
