algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi Kashuo,
Are you doing this in Rhino or Grasshopper?
If in Rhino, try watching this youTube clip and see if it helps: http://geometrygym.blogspot.com/2009/07/generating-structure-in-rhi...
If in Grasshopper, I've attached a sample, simply associate the input to your curves. If it doesn't work, can you post your file?
Cheers,
Jon
I used Javier's scheme to create a simple rectangular piping. But I have a problem, it works perfectly with one curve, but if I inout 2 curves, it merges them into a weird shape...
Could anyone give me a hint ?
And itsn't there somewhere a much simpler way to do this...?
Thank you all, this forum is a gold mine.
Hi Fanny,
Can you post your model so we can assist? (including rhino file if dependent)
It looks like you're using native grasshopper components, the posts above are taking advantage of an advanced sweep routine in my plugin StructDrawRhino. There's also BIM routines to export to Archicad or Revit using IFC plugin. Details of how to get started with this at http://www.geometrygym.com/installing
Cheers,
Jon
Thank you Jon, sorry for the late reply, I'm having troubles uploading files...
Attached is the GH file I used to do the piping.
I've tryed twice to install the plugins you mentionned by it makes rhino 4 crash down, and doesn't seem to work in rhino 5, so I'll see what our IT can do.
Thanks a lot !
ps : I've downloaded this : http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/multiple-square-pipe
I seems to work really well, problem is I don't understand a thing ;)
Also, I'm sure there's a more simple way to do it with Ssi... I'll let you know how it goes.
Hi Fanny,
If you can contact me with details about Grasshopper version etc, I'll try and help troubleshoot the crash. Do check this page also for information about loading the plugin in Rhino v5 (http://www.geometrygym.com/installing )
Can you post the rhino file associated with your gh def?
Cheers,
Jon
