Hi everybody,

Thanks Jon for helping me out with my previous question about floor opening.

Here I'm moving forward trying to figure out a way to best bring grasshopper curtain wall design data into Revit.

Option 1. Simply bring the curtain wall design surface into Revit - apply grid, apply curtain wall panel family.

   Pros: revit model is quite neat - especially if you have saw tooth or undulated panels, all the mullions will be trimmed properly.

   Cons: the design control of panel sizing info in grasshopper will be discarded, and basically reconstructed in Revit, in theory. And I suspect reconstruction in Revit will run into a bunch of problems if curtain wall has a complex geometry.

   Test in GeoGym: I got this method to work on single straight line or smooth curves; but once line/curve starts to have kinks I can't get data to go through (in this instance I did with one single saw tooth line extrusion - revit does not read)

   

 Option 2. Like what Jon showed in his sample file, each panel is of its own, apply family.

    Pros: Data went through no problem, following Jon's script. I was able to edit adaptive family to add in more details like dividing vision glass from spandrel glass, add in shadow box.

    Cons: As shown in file, as long as not all the panels stay in the same plane, the mullions won't trim right. In my instance, each turning point of Z wall has broken mullions.

I attached my sample files as below - if anyone has a better solution please do hop into the discussion.
