Genoform Version 2.0

Ths version includes grasshopper components that are able to communicate with the external genoform (main) . You can create a generative designs by simply replacing your slider bars with genoform slider bars and by dragging in the genoform (grasshopper) component that establishes a communication link with the genoform (main).

Filters are provided to filter out unviable designs

Genoform allows you to filter out unviable solutions. You do not have to define optimisation criteria. In creative design, a good design is recognized only when it emerges. Genoform is based on emergence.

Thanks Myskowski for your compliments.

The trick is to maintain the designs that you created, so that you can go back to it, analyse it, modify it and develop it. In manual user driven design processes all this is lost. Because you can only work on one design at a time.

So even with computers most designers are pushing one design at a time.It will be great if we can try out many designs at the same time - leaving the picking and development for latter.

We hope that the differences will be similar to “single processer" PCs and "multi-processor PCs".   It can help turbo charge your design exploration.

This seems like a great way of working and I can see how a database of values with ranges can produce many varying results quickly. Looking forward to diving in.

I know this is pretty dodgy, but this is a loft I made in grasshopper that I have controlled with Genoform. There are about 100 generations here. I wasn't expecting such thin lofts as well, or the fat short ones, which proves how Genoform can inspire some new ideas.

Thanks to kao.gene for this parametric flower definition
I am controlling the parameters kao.gene set with Genoform.
These are about 100 generations I came up with.

Like to welcome all those interested in generative design to this group.

This  is just a start, we have a very long way to go. Generative design is now getting interesting, as it is possible with or without Genoform to create thousands of designs.

We hope that you will not start swearing when you have to go through the 1000's of designs - to find the right one. Genoform is mainly designed to help you with that - in the versions to come.

For now let’s get started. Let me also introduce to-dayyy,  our community manager Andrew Butler, from Adelaide.

For those who are not familiar with Aussie drawl pl use chat.

Have fun !
