algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Is it tough to instantiate a thermal comfort calculation through Lua?  From what I can tell it is not accessible through any of the components.  I was curious to test different tools (e+, etc) and compare thermal comfort.  From what I can tell, Ecotect is one of the tools that allows you to visualize the thermal comfort in a room, whereas e+ (through DIVA) can calculate the cooling an heating loads to achieve thermal comfort as a metric, not a spatial calculation.  Of course, I am by no means an expert on the subject, so any insght would be appreciated.  I have a few students working on this and we wanted to make sure we were working with the appropriate tools...

Hi Luis,

if you need to know the temperature in a zone can use 1:get.zone.temperature, [zone index], [hour]

if you need the spatial comfort grid (ad resoults) use something like this, with a grid requester

In this kind of analysis is important to set the Zone Properties, schedule, and all need to correctly represent the zones.

Greetings,

Maurizio

Hi Luis,

Sorry was on a travel day and thanks to Maurizio for the reply. Somehow the grasshopper page doesn’t send me any notices of comments anymore, even it is activated, weird.

You are right we didn't wrote any components for that.

But it is all available via LUA. See below the print screen of the available commands.

You can expose them via the script manager (tools/scriptmanager)

Thank you Maurizio, thank you to].  Will try this out!

Hi, have you tried this and is it working?? can you share the example and how are you getting the results back?
