Cannot use a custom font with the "text 3D advanced tools"

Hi all. I am trying to produce 3D text with the "text 3D advanced" tool. I have added a font to Windows (7) and can produce 3D text in that font in Rhino, however when I add a "value list" to this tool then this font does not appear there. Is there a way to feed this 3D text tool a font from file directly without installing the font, or is there some other solution to this? Any tips are very much appreciated. cheers, and amazing tools!
