Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi, I am not sure what does the vector V in the Daylight component does,

I thought if I insert the solar position component vector V into the daylight V will give me the sun location and I can set long and lat for the location, but I am not getting the same outputs as the ones of the same weather file in the daylight component.

Attached a screenshot of the definition.

Thanks in advance,

Best

Dalia.

Hi Dalia,

The vector for the daylight component is the direction of the analysis. Most daylight analysis are done with sensors pointing up (0,0,1), so this is the default if you do not supply any vectors. It has nothing to do with solar vectors. A description of each input is described on the tutorial page here.
