algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Information

BEAVER

BEAVER 0.2.0

Out now.

The BEAVER closes the gap between parametric modeling and automated panel fabrication.

The BEAVER is a BVX interface that enables you to direct manufacture panels on Hundeggers CNC Panelling machines PBA, SPM2 and SIP.

Information on machines and units:

Hans Hundegger Maschinenbau

The Component Enables you to define Panels with:

- mitered outline contours

- inline contours

- material thickness

- grain direction

- drill operations

- slit operations

- pocket operations

- textprinting

We also provide a first "system" that does direct manufacturing planing of a triangular tesselation of surfaces.

The recent version:

We did a first test with a 550-parts project. And had no problems. Even so, this is a Betaversion!

The Betaversion is limited to the export of 10 parts per session as we are still not 100% sure about the stability of the component.

I´m from Germany so I tried to contact the developer of the software. I couldn´t reach him directly, but a former colleague of his. From what I understood the software is not being kept up to date anymore. Due to the speciality of the programm it was hard to eradicate the minor difficulties and if I understood correctly then simply wasn´t worth the effort to max out the potential of the programm. Hence I think the reason why it isn´t being offered here on this site anymore is because there are difficulties in controling cnc-machines with the software and it isn´t up to date. If you want the file nonetheless you will probably have to track down the engineer himself. By the way, in Germany the three major commercial players offering software with the same function are cadwork, sema and dietrichs.

I wanted to try this component for CLT panel manufacturing but I can't find the file

Hi

The download link directs to another website. Is it still possible to download it somewhere?

Also is it possible to do 3D surface milling on a Hundegger PBA using Beaver?

Thanks!

Hello, First time using This component, I am trying to set up a file for cutting stringer out of a 2x14 piece of wood (potentially cutting 360 of these pieces), we recently just got a Hundegger Saw TD2-35, was wondering if someone could help me or point toward a right direction as to how to set this up. Greatly appreciate it! STAIR.3dm

Hello, please, where to find more information about this plug-in?

Sorry, thanks for re-explaining it for me.  I've run into the following error, though, and I'm not sure how to fix it:

"an error occurred in the display pipeline @ X:XX:XX(XXXms)"

Hi,

BVX-Files are feature based description files for building parts. They don´t relate to specific machine properties. The beaver doesn´t check the machining limits of the machine you probably use. We´ve been using it on a SPM2. If you collect experience with different machines please post it here.

Hi there!

Could Beaver make bvx files for Hundegger ROBOT-Drive machines as well? Is Beaver able to identify cuts that are too extreme for a machine's capabilities?

Thanks for you help!

Hi,

I wonder if the bvx files that comes out of beaver can be read by a hundegger SC3.

Thanks in advance!

BVX is a feature based description language for timber construction elements. It does define a building part for production purpose on HUNDEGGER machines and not  kinematic control operations like G-Code (RhinoCAM). What could be used for further processing in RhinoCAM is just the geometric representation that is produced by the BVX-Preview component.
