Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I'm having trouble to connect shell elements with zero-length springs.

Followed the scissor example file, I'm able to connect beam elements with zero-length springs, but the same method doesn't seem to work with shell elements.

I've attached a simple example comparison. It seems like the coincident nodes of shell elements are always joined directly, ignoring the points list input to the Assemble Model component.

Using short springs with a small gap between shells works, but it would be great to be able to use zero-length springs.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Shamil

Hi Shamil,

thank you for your bug-report. There is an error in karamba 1.2.2 which prohibits zero length springs between shell patches. I will try to remedy that in the next release of Karamba.

Best,

Clemens
