algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I can´t get the read *.xlsx component to read my file.
On your provided sample file there is no problem. Same with the output from the exporter component even though it has no apparent file format.
The file in question is exported from Google Drive because I don´t find *.xlsx as an saving option in open office, could that be an issue?
Any plans on a Drive component?
Anyhow, thanks for a solid presence on the forum!

Good news with the drive component!
Error: Solution exception:Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Openxml installed
The file must be an .xlsx...can you send me a file from your workflow?
There, I isolated it but It´s the same error.
I tried it with your file and indeed there is something weird. If I open it in MS Office and save it, I can read it into gHowl just fine, but if I open it directly after downloading, I get the same error...
I guess it´s in the way that Drive outputs xlsx files then.
Looking forward to the drive component :)
Thanks for looking into it!
Drive does not add 'docProps' into the file. An xlsx file is essentially a zip file with a bunch of stuff in it. I looked at the Drive version, and it is missing this docProps folder. Once it is saved in MS Excel, that folder is added in, and OpenXMLSDK can read it fine.
The spreadsheet components used to run off of OpenOffice, but it was a moving target. With each release of Open Office a little something here or there would not work perfectly.
Have you tried opening the file in OpenOffice and saving as .xlsx? Maybe it does the same thing and then the file is ok to use? I will see why I cannot open files without the document properties embedded...
Yup, apparently they don´t and won´t support xlsx.
