algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello all,

I am currently working on a project largely influenced by engineer LeRicolais and his tensile nets, but want to investigate a derivation of his form, focusing more on structural redundancy and the wrapping of a more randomized skin. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for a definition that wraps long and continuous curves around a lofted surface. I hit a wall, and am more than willing to admit my novice skills in Grasshopper. I have seen some definitions along the same track, but focus on fibers rather than continuous wrapping strands. I am a little confused how to translate the idea into a working definition, so any advice would be more than appreciated!

Any images that help understand the nature of what you are trying to achieve?
I'm not personally aware of LeRicolais' work. I'm in the process of developing some force density functionality for Rhino, particularly to easily find minimal surfaces etc. Some of it is already available, but reading your post I think it would need some more work to be of use for your needs. I'm not sure if a pure Grasshopper is a single means for producing this, although I do use it as a basis for creating inputs for my solver. There's a number of other tensile or membrance plug-ins available for Rhino, refer to the Architecture links on the Rhino page.
