Wrap problem in 'Relative Item' for real TRIANGULAR divisions on CLOSED Surface

Hi everyone! I'm olmost done in tryng to make a 'real TRIANGULAR mesh' started from a closed surface divided with 'divide surface' in wich:

The space-frame is made with 'relative Item'

The pannels are made with a genral 'loft' of all the segments together!!( stangely it works!)

The last problem is that the 'WRAP' in relative Item does not behave correctly. Can somebody help me please?

Not that it helps but this has reminded me of a discussion I had with David this time last year: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/wish-control-over-which-b...

Hy! I read carefully the discussion you have with David and I tried oll the codes you were talking about, but none of them worked.. The idea of using {2;0 (wrap)} ecc. to fix the boundary wrapping problems would have been a nice one.!

Tank's a lot anyway!..if you'll find anythig about, please just let me know (if you want).

Take care

Nic

Can you attach you files?

So we can work directly on the problem...

I attached my file

Thank's a lot for helping! I'll reade your discussion.

I'll upload the g.h. file. ok

Thank's again

You need to have a "flowing" topology, where you can repeat the same method row by row by using relative tree component.

Thank you very very very mouch Ric!!!! you really solved a very big problem I had..!

You eaven made a good algorithm for the pannels without using a difficult 'loft'! (wich was another thing I struggled a lot to get). During this week I've tried to make it by myselfe, and since I just started using G.H. and I'm not very expert, I found a way wich is not so cleen and powerfull as your one, but it works too.(exept for the pannels).

I'll attach the file, so you can see my work and make a lough about it! (if you want).

The thing is that I understood the problems that were keeping out from the good way to 'wrap' were two:

-the tree of points at the beginnig

-the fact that oll the segments of the spaceframe, had to be treted in separate way depanding on their 'topology'.

So I remade the tree of points changing it from a rectangular grid to a 'rhomboidal' one. Wich gave the code the abilitity not to confuse the 'wrap' action to the point BEFORE the first one and the FIRST ONE! (I didn't have the knowlege to easyly cull the 'bad' points like you did in the code!..I'll study carefully your work to understand the theory wich is behind).

For the segment topology, the software seemd to get in a 'kind of bug' because while clicking 'true' on the 'Wi' input it was doing the 'Wp' together and the diagonal between them olso!!!!..so I just tried so hard to shok the sistem and make it do ONLY one of the two (wrap Items was the one that I wanted). Finally I made with using 'shift path' and 'flip matrix' (but to be onest..I really didn't undestand what exactly the first component does..I just made it almost casualy after having made tons of trys).

Thank's a lot again!

(can I ask you some more questions about your awsome code, if I'll not understand something?)

 Take care

Nic

Sure. Feel free to ask anything.

Hi Ric, can I bother you with another question?

I finished the design of the 'triangular meshed dome'. At the end I had to CONNECT it's bottom to another tree of points. I made it, but I had to use the tree of points in two different ways. One for the 'RIGHT connection pannells' and the other one for the 'LEFT connection pannells'. Because the firsts ones need the DUBBLE point at the end to wrap correctly, but the second ones DON'T!

So I wos just wondering if it would have been a way to use the tree of ponits in ONE  form for both of the pannel TOPOLOGY. Wat do you think?

Sorry but i didn't understand this last problem...

In the end of your .gh file i can see two Surf4Pt components with 31 surfaces as output on both.

All seems fine.

I can't find the same problem you have in your last picture...

(If you want, you can explain yourself in italian XD I'm italian too, I'll then continue to reply in english for forum's sake)
