Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am sure we have all seen how BIG have shifter their BIM preference to ArchiCAD from Revit because it allowed an easier workflow from grasshopper to BIM. I was curious how many other people out here use ArchiCAD as an end piece of software that model in Grasshopper/Rhino and two how they get there.

I am currently doing an assignment were i don't particularly need ArchiCAD for an purpose other than a translator for rendering.

And i have been saving baked geometry as a .skp then opening that in ArchiCAD however I ran into issues and wasted considerable time today trying to figure out why it wouldn't save a .skp when my rhino file was 250mb hahah.

However next semester I will be using grasshopper into ArchiCAd for BIM uses construction drawings etc. so if anyone has a better workflow that I could use that would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers ! :)

This connection tool between the two softwares should ease the workflow quite a bit: http://www.graphisoft.com/rhino-grasshopper - still in public beta, but works like magic. Good luck!
