Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi!

I've been trying to install grasshopper_wip_20120928 on my new Windows 8.1 which should be compatible with the old Rhino 4 SR9. I have an error ilustrated in the JPG "Capture.jpg" below. Can anybody give me some tips on how to fix this?

Thank you!

Hi Ana Maria,

Sorry if no-one replied earlier. This seems difficult to fix if we do not get that version to work, as now all development had been ported to Rhino 5 for a while. What follows is just my guess: I have never seen this specific issue with this setting.

I think you could try installing .Net 2.0+3.5. These do not come bundled with Windows 8.1 I think.
Then, run Windows Updates.

Please let me know if you got it to work, or if this helped.

Thanks,

Giulio

NET Framework 3.5 appears to already be installed.

Mh, ok. Then let's see this:

When you installed this version of Grasshopper, did you have another one previously installed, or was it a clean install?

(I am trying to help, but I'm pretty much groping in the dark with that old version of Grasshopper and that old version of Rhino)

Thanks,

Giulio

Hi, I know the question is old, but I have the same problem as mentioned above- Is there a solution? I had grasshopper running in Rhino4 on my old maschine, but I just changed my Computer from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Everything install

Hi James, nothing showed in this reply.

The side-by-side configuration problem is to do with old C++ runtimes.

See: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/side-by-side-configuratio...

Well it seems it now appeared :D

Hello Guys,

Thanks for answering this quickly!
