Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all

I have found two scripts which deform a surface in terms of twisting and bending and creates a facade with incremental changes. I want this facade to be responsive to some site condition for my studio. The site is a desert and I am thinking of using climate consultant to get some wind data which I could corporate into the script. For instance, when the wind speed is high, the bending and twisting increases - opening up the facade. Conversely, when the speed is low, the bending and twisting slider is at the lower values creating an almost closed facde. Is there a method to do so?

Are there any other suggestions or precedents that could help me.

I have attached both the scrpts and their respective rhino files.

Please help!

where u can use the real time data..to change the facade conditions u want in ur building......
Hi harsha

sorry in advance for my English...
I'm a newbie of grasshopper, and I'm not sure to have understood what do you want, but I try to help you. For what concerning the link from the wind value and the opening in the facade you can use an "attractor point" (just to have an idea http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MY558NvMxj0 http://www.generativedesigncomputing.net/2008/09/1-attractor-point-...). For what concerning the wind data, I suggest you (if you didn't have already checked) to find a closest metereological station to your site, on this website
http://apps1.eere.energy.gov/buildings/energyplus/cfm/weather_data.cfm
After you can load the downloaded data into Ecotect o using GEKO to link it directly in grasshopper, but I don't know if GEKo give you back the wind data.
I hope that these information can help you.

Best
Andrea
