algorithmic modeling for Rhino

when value = x it triggers the next process??

Hi there,

I would like to generate a script that when a value reaches a certain number the next process is triggered.

a simplified version of what im after would be:

i have a line at point 1. when this line reaches a length of '10' another line begins to grow at point 2. I want to be able to set this up so i have one slider representing a period of time. So 0 would be nothings happened yet and the maximum value would be the complete process of all grown lines having reached a length of 10.

The only difference between this and what i want to do is that instead of a single line reaching a value of 10 i have a spiral that has to reach a certain length then another spiral is triggered from another point.

I have attached my script and an image illustrating again my desired outcome.

Sorry for the late night rambled request!

Many thanks to anyone who can tackle what i presume is a relatively easy problem!

George

Hi there,

maybe this is helpful. I presume you weren't looking for a scripted solution so I used Hoopsnake instead.

Best,

M.

Marios,

Thats great thanks! Could you possibly send me the gh script so i can get my head around what each part does?

am i able to do the same thing but instead of hoopsnake attaching the end of the line to a new line i want each line to start at a point that i have defined?

Thanks for the help!

George

Hello George,

Unfortunately I haven't saved the definition at all. But I just attached a snapshot of the definition on purpose, as I consider it to be more helpful as a learning process! Give it a try. if you still can get a hold of it, let me know so that I'll remake it.

Best,

M.
