Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Been getting this error intermittently in the last couple of days when I try to open a C# script component.  Any thoughts?

I know this topic is old, but I just had to re-install Windows due to an HD crash and I am getting this message(s) too when double-clicking on C# components:

Is anybody still getting it (or solved the issue)? Hope someone still passes from here.

Sorry, no idea. Which .NET versions do you have installed?

Hi Alessio,

I saw this error happening once. It was due to another program installing QWhale (the C# and Vb.Net editor used in Grasshopper) in slightly another version, into the GAC (Global Assembly Cache). I do not remember what program that was (it has to be a program with a similar editor), but uninstalling that program made the error disappear.

I hope this helps

Thanks David and Giulio,

I've just verified my .NET version (following this method: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318785) and it looks like I have the 4.0 Full 64k (install path is C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\).

Looks like I have to install the 32k version... right? Or is it something else?

EDIT: just installed the new GH (0.9.0062) and the error disappeared. O_o'

Glad to hear it's solved, although we did not really understand what caused this, right? Did you have an older version of Grasshopper before, that you uninstalled?

Thanks

Giulio

No we didn't. It should have installed the same version of QWhale as well, so perhaps one of the dlls was broken, locked or missing before? It's all very weird.
