algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello everyone!

I would like to find a way of determining the distance between two points with obstacles between them. For instance, the simple scenario where the distance between person A and person B might only be half a metre, but there is a wall between them so you'd have to calculate two distances, from person A to the door, then from the door to person B...

The difficulty lies in trying to generate surfaces which are a certain distance away from a given point, with variable obstacles.

Does anyone have any ideas? Any help is very appreciated! Thank you in advance.

Sorry to say but the first approach sounds a bit complicated.

For the second approach I would have an other suggestion:

But in general you can follow the two links they will help.
