Hi,

I'm trying to make a Voronoi cell panel and I've run into a couple of issues, 

1. I can't seem to fillet the offset voronoi curves, do I need to trim them where they intersect? Size of the fillet also needs to be bigger

2. My bottom surface (planar surface) of the extruded cells are not lining up, how could I fix this?

Also I would like to introduce attractor points to influence the size of offset and filleting 

 

Would appreciate the help and some quick feedback cause I'm running out of time on this project!!

Just a thought, but you could try to fillet the cells and then offset the filleted cells, hope this helps!

I'm using a voronoi definition for a facade system and the above image is the exact system that I'm trying to produce. I have downloaded the definition but it is only two dimensional, the offset bottom number slider is not connected to anything when I open it. I have attached an image of the definition that opens in my version of grasshopper (0.8.0002).

Can you please give any advice on this?

The resultant red rhino model produced in the image below is a result of the current grasshopper definition. The 3d model was downloaded from the post by Julian.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Adam,

I've updated the definition, there was a lot of useless stuff in there. 

Now you can decide if you want to scale the back voronoi or offset it, the results can vary a lot! Also now you can have each cell as one polysurface instead of a bunch o surfaces.

Pablo mate you solved a vital issue in my learning curve. i had a simple voronoi pattern but was struggling with the offset and fillet issue. Thank you.

could you tell me how i can apply the same pattern on a irregular polygon instead of a rectangular region? i managed to do it using some shady intersection and trimming business but i would like to figure out how the points can be specific to that region.

This voronoi works really well with the box boundary. You could do it on irregular polygons, I've seen some on the galleries. I'm a little short on time, but as soon as I get some free time I'll try to get a definition running!

Great if you have an acceptable solution.  

 

You could also try the polygon fillet command in my StructDrawRhino plugin which offsets and fillets as per this image including dealing with very short edges.  There's also a curve network version when the polygon spaces have not been determined.

this error is because the filet radius makes out.

offset in the stack you have to click _Expression_editor expression_set_-D
