algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello, does anybode know how to give fickness to the structure in the photo?I tried using pipe and offset, but I don't really know in witch part of the script I would connect them.

You mean "thicken" the edges? (stuff that attempt to do add-ons the likes of:  ExoW, Intralattice or Cocoon). Or thicken the BrepFaces?.

PS: ALWAYS post some definition > help based on an image is rather impossible.

Yes, as you can see when the structure is baked all the faces are full surfaces, but this is meant to be an bus shelter, so it should be "open". I'm sorry, I don't really know how to give a definition to this haha but you see the red lines I draw?I want to "delete" the area that is countered by those lines. I want to make the corners become "pillars". I don't know if I made myself clear...

Hmm ... this is NOT a Voronoi 3d case, see attached.

Using Topologizer and ExoW.

BTW: ExoW is very tricky (and a "bit" faulty) > I would strongly recommend to try Intralattice or Cocoon

BTW: Bus shelter? Er ... can you imagine the constrains required? Suggestion: very bad Architectural approach > function follows form > NEVER do that > go ASAP to some Plan B (or C or D or Z).

And this ... well ... is less Planet Utopia and more Planet Zorg. Anyway putting columns INSIDE a bus shelter is out of question.

Note: due to the random nature of voronoi polylines the offset inwards component doesn't assure success in all the "cells" (life sucks). I could easily address this via code but that''s another animal.

Added a bonus: IF you have instance definitions in your file (sample a bus for instance) then the rightmost freaky thing ... does what it does (response is real-time no matter how many instances you order [ within the limits of reasonable]).

Found a couple of minutes more:

1. Offset (case: convex polylines) is replaced by C#  code by The Lord: It works far better ... BUT some times AND ALTHOUGH the offset part works 100% OK in any situation ... er ... Rhino fails (without any apparent reason) to do the bool intersection required. See the disabled native GH component as well that also fails. Why? You tell me.

2. Added a more realistic option for the sides:

instead of that entirely off-topic solution:

3. Added an indicative bus shelter layout that proves ... er ... that the whole approach is wrong: you should do some layout the full parametric way (not a task for a novice) and then sample the random points required ALWAYS between the bus parking places: that way inside columns are possible and functional.

PS: In order to use the test instance definitions load Rhino file first.
