I think Giulio is working on it right now, or may in fact already be looking for testers.

Yes, there is no Rhino 5 and VS2017 extension.

I am working on the Grasshopper extension right now. It will work on Rhino WIP and VS2017 or Rhino WIP and VS2015. If you do not have Rhino WIP, you will still be able to manually set paths to Rhino 5 assemblies.

For the time being, to make it work in VS2017 you can open the .vsix as if it was a zip file, open the containing "extension.visxmanifest" file in a text editor and inside the <SupportedProducts> tag add:

      <VisualStudio Version="15.0">
        <Edition>Community</Edition>
      </VisualStudio>
