algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi im trying to generate vertical fins on a curved surface, im having problems to connect the the points to a curve which i generated on the surface.

Could you guys have a look at it and give me some tips.

Are you after that ?

Without the flip matrix you will change the direction of fins.

Hi guys if someone want the GH file i fixed it and its working now here is a pic

It's hard to show this but it looks to me like all the fins are good in the lower sections and only bad in the top section, where the normal vectors are messed up somehow:

I made a few changes... quite a few!  I fixed the normal vector problem by using the mid-point instead of the start point, though end point works too.  The start points are off the surface in the cut top section.

I can't remember all the other changes I made (extrude instead of loft)...  I internalized the surface and edge curve I used.

I may have picked the wrong curve (of three in the Rhino file) to use in the blue group?  I don't understand the intent or reasoning behind the reference and wonder why the blue group is used instead of a simple slider?

And then, looking at the 'SubSrf' results and how the vertical sections are shorter at the bottom and taller at the top, I wonder if regular horizontal intervals would be preferred?

By the way, since I used 'Pull' to effectively cut the vertical lines, the start points will work now, as well as the mid and end points.

Here is one more variation on this theme worth considering.

Having replaced the horizontal isocurves with evenly spaced plane intersections, we can also replace the unevenly spaced vertical isocurves by dividing those plane intersection curves:

Unfortunately (sloppy parameter setting on my part), there was a plane intersecting the angled top edge of the surface, and instead of adjusting the parameter to fix a problem this caused, I used 'Untrim' surface - clever but wrong.  Fixed properly now in version 'e':

wow thanks you a lot this looks great, yea actually in the last post i did i keep the top straight so the gh file was working but yours is better thank you a lot!
