Vb copying and pasting errors

I wasted several hours trying to work with the Vb script editor today. and I'm still unable to create a script that runs.
I'm have used several editors, such as Notepad++ and Scite for years, where the simple task of copying and pasting including from Notepad has never been an issue.

However I find it a bit disconcerting to see a simple copy and paste operation from Notepad to VB script editor going so badly.

For your reference, note that after:  A = If((Math.Abs(x) < 10) & (Math.Abs(y) < 10) & (Math.Abs(z) < 10), Math.Sin(x)  
the M for Math goes missing and so do the Operators. ......Yikes!

This is not a computer glitch, .... This is a repeatable Error!

Why does it still take 2 minutes to calculate nothing?
